Job Description: As the Chief Financial Officer, you will play a crucial role in managing the company's financial operations and strategy to support our mission of advancing renewable energy solutions. You will work closely with the executive team to provide strategic financial leadership and ensure the sustainable growth and financial stability of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and execute the company's financial strategy in alignment with its overall business objectives and renewable energy project development.
- Lead financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and long-term financial planning.
- Evaluate and execute financial strategies that optimize capital allocation and investment decisions.
Risk Management:
- Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks associated with project development and operational activities.
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax requirements in Japan.
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare and present timely and accurate financial reports to the executive team and the board of directors.
- Conduct financial analysis and performance evaluations, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
Capital Management:
- Oversee capital raising efforts, including debt financing, equity investments, and partnerships with financial institutions or investors.
- Manage relationships with banks, lenders, and financial stakeholders.
Team Leadership:
- Build and lead a high-performing finance team, providing mentorship and guidance to drive professional growth and success.
- Foster a culture of financial discipline and accountability throughout the organization.
Strategic Partnerships:
- Collaborate with strategic partners, government entities, and other stakeholders to identify growth opportunities and navigate regulatory and financial challenges in the renewable energy sector.
Sustainability and ESG:
- Integrate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles into financial decision-making and reporting.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of sustainability initiatives in line with the company's mission.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. MBA or CPA preferred.
- Proven experience as a CFO or in a senior financial leadership role within the renewable energy or infrastructure industry.
- Strong understanding of the renewable energy sector, including knowledge of government incentives and regulations in Japan.
- Excellent financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting skills.
- Familiarity with project finance and experience in securing debt and equity financing.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
- Proficiency in both Japanese and English languages is a plus.
