Job Summary:

The Deputy Site Manager will be responsible for the offshore construction activities of Americas first commercial -size offshore wind farm. The responsibility will start when the components arrive at our offshore site and until the operational wind farm will be handed over to commercial operations team. The successful candidate must have a solid understanding of and proven experience in construction and electrical commissioning in an offshore environment.

The Deputy Site Manager will work in back-to-back rotation with the Site Manager.

Job Duties:

  • Main responsible for offshore construction of the wind farm.
  • Lead the onsite team responsible for the everyday site.
  • Ensure that the construction process runs as safely as possible and according to given guidelines and processes.
  • Monitor progress of construction efforts and all contractors.
  • Manage monitoring and reporting obligations to state and federal agencies.
  • Support corporate environmental, health and safety initiatives.
  • Ensure timely corporate reporting of compliance metrics and monitor trends.
  • Lead non-planned activities (e.g., evacuations, spills, etc.).

Skills and Requirements:

  • 5 - 10 years of experience in the offshore construction industry (knowledge of offshore wind desirable).
  • Experience with environmental, health, and safety management on large offshore construction projects preferred.
  • Experience working with teams involved in large projects desired.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Pro-active and diligent approach.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines
  • Able to adapt and work in a fast-paced working environment and responsive to change.
  • Able to stay calm and keep the overview of the entire process and day-to-day activities.
