As a member of the Project Development Team, you will be responsible for the delivery of renewable energy projects, predominately onshore and offshore wind, from inception to Financial Close.
Team members will have a "hands-on" and flexible approach to support achieving shared targets and goals.
Key Accountabilities for Project Director:
The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for delivery of the project from inception onwards.
Working closely with the Onshore or Offshore Development Director they will be expected to:
Devise project strategy, including managing project programme, project budget and resources required
Take responsibility to understand and ensure implementation of all key organisational policies, such as Workplace Health, Safety and Environment
Work closely with and lead members of the project team to achieve shared targets and goals such as, but not limited to, the EIA process, securing grid connection, obtaining relevant permits and securing all internal approvals
Ensure all project stakeholders are correctly managed, holding direct relationships where required and at multiple levels with key stakeholders
Build a network of third-party consultants and contractors, focusing where appropriate on local organisations, that are able to support project delivery
Maintain an appropriate network of stakeholders at a senior level in support of the development business e.g. relevant trade organisations, central and local government, etc.
Identify opportunities for new projects and strategic partnerships
Skills / Experience:
The successful candidate is likely to display a number of the following key skills:
Project development experience of projects in conventional generation (e.g. nuclear, coal, gas fired, etc.), OR renewable energy (e.g. solar, biomass, wind etc), OR infrastructure (e.g. utilities, ports, roads, etc.)
Strong project management skills based on strategic thinking
Have a strong focus on workplace, health, safety and environment
A solid understanding of relevant regulations, civil and grid requirements
Ability to work independently and to take responsibility to deliver results as part of a team
Ability to interpret and structure key contracts
Stakeholder management experience
Be willing to work in a diverse and inclusive business environment
Strong team player ability to work within a small team and flexible to support the growth of the business
Degree or equivalent in an environmental, engineering, planning or science or business based subject
Fluent business Japanese and high level of English proficiency
