Field Service Engineer

Job Description

Our client specialize in integrated automation solutions for warehouses, distribution centers and is search for a Field Service Engineer to join their organisation.

This role Key Responsibilities are:

The position holder shall be responsible for the fulfilment of customer support services (fulfilment of maintenance contracts = preventive- and corrective maintenance) after completion of project implementation and realization of (retrofit) projects.

The position holder shall provide the service as agreed with our customers and shall try all the best to bring a system operation up and running in a reasonable time, which should be as short as possible.

The persion who will be in this role will ensure adherence to all the relevant instructions and technical standards and help the customer to keep the systems in good working condition. The position holder plays a key role within the Customer Support organization.

Secondary tasks

  • Expected to find, cure and analyze faults and propose solutions to avoid technical disturbances in the future
  • Seek for sales opportunities
  • Conduct training on subject matters with sufficient expertise to internal staff and/or customers/subcontractors/ suppliers
  • Deal promptly with customer enquiries, complaints or problems
  • Adherence to company and customer safety regulations
  • Prepare event and statistical reports

Educational / Professional Qualifications

Essential

  • Higher education in electrical / mechanical / automation engineering
  • Good level of health and fitness and to be able to work safely at height
  • Good English skills
  • 2 - 5 years as an service technician or technical skills in electrical, instrumental or similar competence

Desirable

  • Experience in the same type of work within similar systems
  • PC and MS office literate
  • Several years of working experience in an automated
    industrial or automated material handling environment

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • Broad knowledge in mechanics, hydraulics, electrics/electronics and automation systems (PLC & IT)
  • Knowledge of software controlled logistic systems and understanding of daily operational problems in a distribution centre
  • Experience in PLC systems S7 & PC (server client, RF) systems
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency with normal range of hand and power tools
  • Result oriented
  • Self starter mentality and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Good customer service skills including being able to communicate at all levels
  • Ability to analyse data and information to develop solutions
  • Willingness to take stand-by shifts and work outside normal working hours
