Job Description:

As the Head of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Taiwan, you will be responsible for leading and managing the strategic development, implementation, and operation of BESS projects in the region. Your role will involve overseeing the entire lifecycle of BESS projects, from conceptualization and planning to execution and post-implementation support. You will collaborate with internal teams, external stakeholders, and partners to ensure successful project delivery and drive the growth of the organization in the battery energy storage sector in Taiwan.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for BESS projects in Taiwan.
  • Identify market opportunities, potential clients, and key stakeholders.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to stay updated on industry trends and competitive landscape.
  • Define business goals, targets, and performance indicators.

Project Management:

  • Lead the end-to-end project management process for BESS initiatives.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation measures.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

Business Development:

  • Identify and establish strategic partnerships and collaborations to expand the organization's presence in the BESS market.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key clients, suppliers, and industry stakeholders.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including tendering processes and proposals.
  • Conduct negotiations and finalize contracts with clients and partners.

Team Leadership:

  • Build, develop, and lead a high-performing team of professionals.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to team members.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and implement development plans.

Regulatory Compliance and Safety:

  • Stay up to date with relevant laws, regulations, and standards related to BESS projects in Taiwan.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and industry best practices.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies.

Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Management, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in the energy industry, with a focus on battery energy storage systems.
  • Proven track record in successfully managing large-scale BESS projects, preferably in Taiwan or the Asia Pacific region.
  • Experience in strategic planning, business development, and contract negotiations.
  • Strong understanding of the regulatory landscape for BESS projects in Taiwan.

Technical Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of battery energy storage technologies, including different battery chemistries, power electronics, and control systems.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and certifications.

Leadership and Communication:

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in leading and motivating teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Language Skills:

  • Fluent in both written and spoken Mandarin Chinese and English.
