A multinational industrial manufacturing organisation is looking for an Industrial Service Engineer to be based in the Johannesburg area. The purpose of this role is to provide engineering support to the business by coordinating a complete spectrum of superior technical solutions and services to the customer. This includes product design, application engineering services, engineering document control, failure analysis and writing technical reports such as damage analysis.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Qualified Artisan Trade - either Fitter and/or Fitter and Turner/Millwright
  • N5/N6 or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
  • 3-5 years’ technical experience within a manufacturing/industrial industry
  • Proven history of technical service engineering / manufacturing experience
  • Strong aptitude of mechanical systems - ability to read mechanical engineering drawings and suggest application recommendations
  • Solid industry knowledge of the region
  • Project engineering / contract management experience will be advantageous
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • SAP & CRM system experience will be advantageous
  • Proficiency in business English, speaking and written communication
  • Flexibility - willingness to travel to 60% of the time
  • Valid driver’s license


Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Maintaining relationship with major customers
  • Provide superior service to customers and supports
  • Train peers
  • Instructing and training customers
  • Rendering technical assistance with specific aspects of the product application development
  • Timely reporting of all customer (and distributor) service related activity
  • Providing services to specific customers outside of assigned territory on an emergency basis
  • Effectively coordinate responses and corrective actions across business segments and geographic regions
  • Assist with technical queries, and assist with product development and implementation of new applications
  • Assist sale teams in the identification of new product opportunities for the region
  • Advise customers on the correct product selection / application and implementation of customer specification / requirements
  • Maintains contact with existing customers to contribute to the maintenance and development of long-term relationships
  • Provide technical solutions to prevent and resolve application performance problems and thereby maximize operational uptime for strategic customers
  • Maintain close links with all internal teams to ensure that any changes or issues are actioned effectively
  • Build and maintain communication and relationship with customers, gain full insight into key end-user accounts, and present technical presentations and understand customer feedback
  • Maintain technical awareness of, and participation in the market place, through reading, visiting existing and prospective customers, attending seminars, trade fairs, training programs, etc.


Remuneration:

  • R35,000 - R45,000 basic salary + benefits
