Position Overview:
As an Investment Associate, you will play a crucial role in supporting the company's renewable energy investment activities. You will work closely with the investment team to analyze opportunities, perform due diligence, and contribute to the successful execution of renewable energy projects.
Responsibilities:
Financial Analysis:
- Conduct thorough financial analysis, including modeling and valuation, to evaluate the feasibility of renewable energy projects.
- Assess financial risks and returns, considering market conditions, project costs, and revenue projections.
Due Diligence:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conduct comprehensive due diligence on potential investment opportunities.
- Evaluate legal, technical, and regulatory aspects of renewable energy projects.
Market Research:
- Stay informed about market trends, policy changes, and competitive landscape in the renewable energy sector in Japan.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on market research.
Investment Proposal:
- Prepare detailed investment proposals and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Clearly communicate key investment parameters and risks to facilitate decision-making.
Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain relationships with external partners, financial institutions, and other stakeholders in the renewable energy industry.
- Participate in negotiations and discussions with potential partners.
Project Execution:
- Support the execution of renewable energy projects from financial close to operational phase.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure successful project implementation.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Monitor and ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and standards.
- Work with legal and regulatory teams to navigate permitting and licensing processes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
2-4 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or project finance, with a focus on renewable energy or infrastructure projects.
Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with proficiency in Excel and financial modeling software.
Knowledge of the Japanese renewable energy market, regulations, and policy landscape.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a multicultural environment.
Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
Fluency in both English and Japanese (written and spoken).
