Position Overview: We are looking for a dedicated PMO Administrator who will play a pivotal role in supporting and managing projects throughout their lifecycle. The successful candidate will be based in Johannesburg, South Africa, and will work closely with project teams to ensure the efficient and effective execution of mining projects in Central Africa. This role requires frequent travel within the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Project Management Office.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather project data and updates.
- Maintain project documentation, schedules, and reports.
- Assist in the development and monitoring of project budgets.
- Organize and facilitate project meetings and workshops.
- Support project managers in resource allocation and tracking.
- Ensure compliance with project management standards and best practices.
- Participate in the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure of mining projects.
- Play a key role in transformational projects aimed at improving operational efficiency and sustainability.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, specifically within the mining industry in Africa.
- Demonstrated involvement in projects from initiation to closure.
- Proven experience in supporting transformational projects.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Willingness to travel frequently within Central Africa.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of other local languages is a plus.
