Principal Resident Engineer

Job Description

Education: Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (University Degree)


Experience:

· Minimum 15-20 years experience in the energy sector and particularly in the Power Transmission with minimum 8-10 years experience as Senior Consultant Engineer or in Senior Project Management position. Experience in supervision of installation, testing and commissioning of complete High Voltage (i.e. up to 400 kV) Substations.

Required competencies:

· Project In-charge for the complete Project Site Team, Complete Project Management for the entire project. Coordination with various stakeholders like Client, Developer, Contractor, Public/Statutory Authorities etc.;

· Site investigation, Data collection, preparation of Site Survey Reports, Feasibility Reports, Conceptual Design Reports;

· Review & approval of Contractor's submittals, drawings, calculations, layouts and engineering documents for switchgears (AIS & GIS), Transformers (Power & Distribution), CTs, VTs, Cables (power, control, Fibre Optic), LVAC distribution, Battery & Battery Charger, DMS/SCADA/RTU etc. and ensure design implementation at site;

· Ensure contract execution according to Client specifications and requirements; Report & resolve non-conformances;

· Monitoring & expediting Project progress in line with agreed time schedule, reporting delays and recommending remedial actions; Ensure project completion within established time schedule and cost estimates.

· Attend & chair start up/weekly/monthly progress meetings. Preparing periodic Progress Reports;

· Monitor and improve resource utilisation resulting in higher productivity.

· Ensure project completion within established cost estimates and resources;

· Ensure compliance to HSEQ requirements including documentation. In-depth knowledge on HSE & QA/QC procedures; responsible for site safety and safety audits;

· Review & approval of Contractor's invoice in line with progress of site works;

· Responsible for site inspections, testing, commissioning & final handover to Client. Follow-up with Contractor for completion of pending items and snags;

· Coordinate with Client for issuance of Provisional & Final Acceptance Certificates. Verify claims/variations & certify final account of the project;

· Identify potentials to improve process during project execution. Implement changes/improvements in coordination with management;

· Identify claim potentials and develop Time extension/Variation Order requests, related to consultancy/PMC contract.
