Job Description:
The Program transportation needs to ensure that global transportation solutions are designed in a professional and sustainable way including achieving the ambitious global growth goals.
The purpose of the role is to guarantee smooth traffic of goods around the globe at optimized cost and emissions while taking into account transport regulations such as dangerous goods and waste and while safeguarding the client and its people by working closely together with Trade Compliance in order to ensure compliance with trade regulations.
The program project manager is responsible for delivering all large and complex logistic projects for RBM, required in order to deliver the Transport and Trade Compliance service, in an ambitious time frame (2026).
Context -
The Program Manager Transportation is responsible for:
* Defining the requirements for the digital landscape and enforcing on time implementation of the digital roadmap in order for the client to allow for efficient and rapid growth. The complete digital landscape for Transport & Trade Compliance is lagging and needs to be designed and implemented at an unseen speed in order to be able to deliver on the business units objectives (target 2026).
* Bringing excellence to the logistic set-up through global end-to-end process ownership across geographic and BU' site (RBM Korea, China, Finland, Poland, Canada, South Europe, Belgium, …) boundaries in order to ensure compliance, efficiency and effectiveness.
* Guaranteeing corporate oversight on projects and their status
Monitoring global trends and providing guidance to the business on logistic solutions
* Establishing an intimate connection with the business and its plans in order to be a pro-active and strategic partner in the logistic related topics that are essential for the business and the client.
* Prioritizing and allocating resources and align with the business unit for allocation of the required resources within the BU, managing the cost center of the T&TC RBM acceleration team, challenge priorities within global cross-functional teams, ensure close stakeholder management within RBM
Lead and develop the Global T&TC RBM acceleration team
* Define the right resources required for the program execution (capabilities & capacity & timing), hire and ensure onboarding.
* Provide strategy and expertise. Lead to global RBM acceleration team, integrate all projects in a project portfolio. Manage the execution of the global project portfolio.
* Actively follow-up on trends in logistics and connect with Trade Compliance ant Transport Regulations in order to stay up to date with changes in regulations. Share trends, best practices and results, and organize knowledge distribution in RBM in cooperation with the colleagues of Transport & Trade Compliance.
* Manage the team to stay up-to-date with trends and regulations, to identify issues, develop solutions and provide guidance to management on resolving issues to support business objectives while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations and internal policies, ensuring maximum added value (e.g., by maximizing import duty savings) and delivering projects within time and budget.
* Serve as a designated point of contact for RBM management on Transport and Trade Compliance related service.
* Monitor program progression and track added value (quantitative and qualitative)
* Lead, drive and develop a global process owner organization for Transport and Trade Compliance for RBM in order to set-up efficient and effective processes and build strong foundations which can be used as blueprint for other business units.
* Be a challenger in the different global cross-functional teams.
* Define and manage the cost center budget of the T&TC RBM acceleration team.
* Manage the complete project portfolio or program consisting out of all RBM related projects (organization, processes, tools, systems, logistic set-ups, …) in order to deliver excellent T&TC services for RBM and JV structures on time taking the ambitious growth plan into account.
Secondary Tasks and responsibilities
* Develop a thorough understanding of the needs, flows and logistic requirements.
* Evaluate data to ensure the proper strategy is formulated and any risks are identified
* Analyse complex, challenging problems, cut them into smaller issues in order to address them one by one and synthesise to finally find a holistic solution to the problem.
* Conducting feasibility studies to assess business opportunities and make recommendations regarding strategy or implementation plans
* Investigate a problem outside of conventional thought processes, think laterally, approach a situation from different and sometimes unexpected angles, solve problems with innovative solutions
* Use iterations to continuously improve the solutions (prototype and refine)
* Initiate the make or buy decision and take into account the scalability of the logistics solutions chosen
* Define solutions based on multiple scenario's and develop business case
* Create a cross functional core team and align on project scope
* Develop a project plan and align with core team and steering committee
* Manage the schedule, budget, and cross functional team members to ensure completion of the project within the specified time frame
* Manage project budgets and expenditures, ensuring efficient use of resources
* Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate execution.
* Understand the needs of all stakeholders and translate them in concrete actions.
* Manage time effectively, plan and prioritize in order to achieve the goals
Requirements:
- Master degree (economics, sciences, …) required with a focus in logistics, supply chain, compliance and/or transportation preferred..
- 15+ years of substantial direct functional experience in logistics
- Experience working for a large, diverse multinational is preferred. Experience working in at least an international environment is required.
- Expertise in project and process management
o Knowledge of transportation processes, functioning of different transportation modes, available transportation solutions and transportation systems
o Understanding on market trends regarding digitalization and sustainable transport.
o Knowledge of following regulations: customs, transport, Dangerous Goods, Transboundary Waste Shipments.
o In-depth knowledge of transportation market and cost drivers
o In-depth knowledge of procurement
- Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus, working knowledge of Six Sigma or Lean principles is required
- Proven project management experience is required, Prince 2 certificate is a plus
- Proven experience in directing and strengthening logistic processes and procedure
- Communications: Fluent in English, other languages are a plus
