A successful construction business is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyors/Contracts Administrator to work on a mining project in Botswana. The role will be responsible for ensuring that the client's needs are met by delivering expert Contracts Administration and Quantity Surveying services.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or Engineering
  • 5+ years' experience in an EPCM environment
  • Experience on mining projects in Botswana/Southern Africa
  • Working knowledge of the latest contracting strategies (including forms of contracts, payment terms, incentives/penalty arrangements, innovative commercial models
  • Experienced in handling contractors, consultant progress claims, variation claims and other EPCM issues
  • Strong procurement and project controls experience
  • Ability to communicate in English and local language in a professional manner


Responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the payment process of contracts and purchase orders
  • Preparation of tender documentation and adjudication of tenders
  • Preparation of commercial information for contract and purchase approval documents
  • Developing and maintaining commercial registers
  • Developing and maintaining financial and contractual data
  • Insertion of data and maintaining contracts module as per clients document control system
  • Assisting with the assembly and compilation of contracts (NEC, FIDIC, Employer Bespoke)
  • Providing contracts assurance and management for the employer / client
  • Ensuring that tender and contract documentation is prepared in a way that minimizes risks
