My client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Research and Development (R&D) Project Manager to lead and oversee their innovation initiatives. As an R&D Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving research and development projects from concept to completion, ensuring they align with company strategic goals and objectives. You will be responsible for managing cross-functional teams, budgets, timelines, and resources to deliver innovative solutions that contribute to their growth and competitive advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning and Execution:
    • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
    • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
    • Lead project teams to execute plans efficiently and meet project goals.
    • Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and addressing potential issues.
  2. Team Leadership:
    • Build and lead cross-functional project teams, including researchers, engineers, and other specialists.
    • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment, ensuring effective communication and information sharing.
    • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, facilitating their professional development.
  3. Resource Management:
    • Manage project budgets and financial resources effectively.
    • Allocate resources efficiently to ensure projects stay on track.
    • Identify and procure necessary equipment, tools, and external resources.
  4. Risk Management:
    • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Proactively address issues to minimize project disruptions.
    • Ensure projects comply with regulatory and safety standards.
  5. Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Communicate project progress and outcomes to internal and external stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment with company strategies.
    • Build and maintain relationships with industry partners and research organizations.
  6. Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
    • Drive a culture of innovation within the R&D team.
    • Seek opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Science, Business).
  • Proven experience as an R&D Project Manager, preferably in a related industry.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Excellent leadership and team-building skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to R&D projects.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Innovative mindset and a passion for driving technological advancements.
  • PMP or similar project management certification is a plus.
