Robotics Account Manager

Job Description

We have a current opportunity for a Account Manager Robotics on a permanent basis for our client who are a global leader in the automation industry, specializing in industrial robots, collaborative robots, automated guided vehicles (AGVs), software solutions, and customized automation systems for a wide range of industries.

Summary

Responsible for achieving and growing new robotic sales in Canada. Cooperates with the Vice President of Sales to develop business strategies and performance targets in accordance with annual growth expectations.

Successfully executes business sales strategies directly and through collaboration with other account managers.


Overall responsibility for identifying and developing business plans to grow sales through strategic integrators and directly to end-users. Strategies will include leveraging the capacity and skills of other professionals within the sales and technical support team.


Collaborates on the creation and implementation of regional strategies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Additional duties may be assigned

  • Works with the Vice President of Sales to develop and establish strategic and tactical sales and assignment-specific plans, both short- and long-range, to achieve specified targets and objectives.
  • Uses sales tools (Salesforce, 4-block, Consultative Selling, etc.) to develop and communicate account strategies with peers and management.
  • Develops plans, support materials, and customer-specific presentations to sell the company's products to assigned areas in the most efficient manner with minimal or no product development.
  • Develops and maintains long-term business relationships between the company and end-user customers through a close knowledge base and relationship with key decision-makers within the customers' management, engineering, purchasing, maintenance, and production groups.
  • Develops entire proposal packages, including quotations, support plans, and training plans as required to meet customers' expectations; with collaboration of inside sales and technical resources.
  • Develops monthly, quarterly, and yearly forecasts to achieve sales targets.
  • Reviews Purchase Orders for accuracy, supporting documentation, and identifies any issues promptly.
  • Identifies issues (before and after Purchase Order) and notifies affected persons promptly; then proactively develops solutions individually or as part of a team.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with end-user supply base and integrators; industry influencers and key community and strategic partners within the given geography, industry, or other assignment(s).
  • Assists the company in gathering, reviewing, and communicating information about markets, competitors, and economic business growth plans to optimize sales penetration strategy development.
  • Cooperates with all internal departments to achieve overall targets.
  • Promotes the company's brand and builds industry networks, through attendance at relevant industry association meetings and other networking events.
  • Promotes teamwork and a cooperative effort within the company and the North American region.
  • Travels as needed to customer sites in Canada as well as company Headquarters in Germany. Regional travel will be infrequent and as agreed to from time-to-time to support Regional business development.
  • Exercises sound judgment in controlling sales and administrative costs within their control.
  • Represents the company professionally to uphold our corporate image and grow our business in North America.
  • Understands and follows safety regulations and identifies safety concerns.
  • Adheres to the Quality Systems and participates in continual improvement.
  • Complies with all corporate compliance policies and business guidelines.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No direct supervisory responsibilities. Acts as a role model, actively mentors and guides coworkers in developing accounts in Canada.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.E.E./B.S.C/B.S.M.E.) or equivalent from a four-year college or university and five (5) years of related automation sales or capital equipment experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in Canada.
  • Large account management experience.
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office experience with intermediate skills in Excel and PowerPoint.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS

  • Valid Vehicle Driver's License from the Canadian Province of residence free of any legal restrictions, required.
  • Valid Passport and eligible to work long-term status in Canada.
