Senior Rock Engineer

Job Description

Our client who is an international consultancy are currently looking for a Senior Rock Engineer to add to their team.

They are seeking an experienced Senior Rock Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of rock engineering within the mining industry. This will include conducting feasibility studies, designing underground excavations, implementing ground support systems, and providing technical support to mine management.

Responsibilities:

Open pit mine/ underground mine design

Conduct feasibility studies to evaluate the stability of underground excavations

Develop and design ground support systems to ensure the stability of mine excavations

Provide technical support to mine management regarding rock engineering issues

Conduct risk assessments and develop risk mitigation strategies

Geotechnical report writing

Ensure compliance with all relevant safety standards and regulations

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field

At least 15 years of experience in rock engineering in the mining industry

Strong knowledge of underground mining methods and open pit mining methods, rock mechanics, and ground support systems

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Willingness to travel as needed
