Our client is a leading player in the renewable energy sector, specializing in offshore wind projects. With a commitment to sustainable energy solutions, we are dedicated to driving innovation and excellence in every aspect of our operations. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Director to join our team and lead our efforts in ensuring the highest standards of safety and environmental responsibility across our offshore wind fabrication projects.
Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive HSE strategies and initiatives aligned with company objectives and industry best practices.
  • Provide strategic direction and guidance to senior management on HSE matters, advocating for the integration of HSE principles into all aspects of the business.
  • Stay abreast of relevant laws, regulations, and standards pertaining to health, safety, and environmental protection within the offshore wind fabrication sector.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards, proactively identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective measures as necessary.
  • Identify and assess potential HSE risks associated with offshore wind fabrication activities, developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies to minimize hazards and incidents.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into HSE incidents and near misses, analyzing root causes and implementing preventative measures to avoid recurrence.
  • Lead and manage a large team of HSE professionals, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to foster a culture of safety excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate regular training and development initiatives to enhance the HSE competency of employees at all levels within the organization.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure HSE considerations are integrated into project planning and execution.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for HSE-related inquiries from clients, regulatory agencies, and other external stakeholders.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor HSE performance across offshore wind fabrication projects.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting trends, achievements, and areas for improvement.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering).
  • Proven experience working in a leadership role within the offshore wind industry, with a focus on fabrication activities.
  • Strong understanding of HSE regulations, standards, and best practices applicable to offshore wind projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and lead large teams of HSE professionals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of implementing effective risk management strategies.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, CIH) preferred.
