Inter Array Cable (IAC) Transportation and Installation (T&I) Manager

Location: Bridgeport, Connecticut or Boston, MA.

Start: ASAP

Duration: Initial contract until end of September but will be extended long term.

Rotations: Monday-Friday, 8 hours a day.

Our client is a leading developer, owner and operator of renewable energy facilities in the United States with an eight-gigawatt portfolio of onshore wind and solar projects across 22 states.

The clients offshore wind business is pioneering this new industry with a development pipeline of five gigawatts off the East Coast.

Job Description:

The Inter Array Cable (IAC) Installation Manager shall be directly responsible for the delivery of the technical activities and supervision relating to the Transportation and Installation (T&I) of IACs.

In the period leading up to Final Investment Decision (FID) this shall include the development of

key documents associated with the installation and testing of the IAC package. Working with the other members of the package management team, the Installation Manager will support the

procurement process, engaging with suppliers and performing the necessary checks to confirm

adherence of the tenderers with the Employer Requirements.

Working with the package management team, supporting departments and external contractors,

the Installation Manager will prepare for, and oversee the works associated with the execution of

the installation part of the IAC work scope. This will include the consenting aspects of the project.

Reporting to the IAC Package Manager, the Inter Array Cable (IAC) Installation Manager shall be

based in Bridgeport, CT (preferable) or Boston, MA.

Responsibilities:

1. Engineering

 Development and implementation of the T&I engineering plans and management of any

external services or resources that are required to deliver the tasks identified within the

engineering plan.

 Development and implementation of the Installation Management Plan and

management of any external services or resources that are required to deliver it.

 Responsible for the management and completion of the FEED works, this shall include,

Preliminary cable route design, Cable Burial Risk Assessment (CBRA), Interface

engineering activities with WTG foundations and ESP, and seabed management plan.

 Responsible for management and approval of Contractor's installation engineering

activities.

 Responsible for defining a work package survey strategy and for managing the

completion of all required survey works.

 Responsible for preparation of the T&I elements of any documents that are required to

support the discharge of our consents.

 Responsible for ensuring a cable replacement/repair strategy and methodology is

developed.

 Management of the CVA approval process for Cable System and T&I.

2. Procurement: Responsible for assessing the technical compliance of the bids, this shall

include:

 Coordination and preparation of the technical documentation that is required for

inclusion within ITT and EPCI documentation package(s).

 Assessment of T&I solution including consents compliance check.

 Analysis of bidder's program of work.

 Weather analysis of proposals.

 Vessel assurance check.

 Vessel emissions check.

 Trenching risk assessment.

 Preparation of ITEO including coordination with all reviewers involved in the technical

assessment.

3. Project Management

 Shall support the implementation and maintenance of the IAC Project Execution Plan.

 Shall provide input into Cable System Risk Management plan to ensure that the correct

level of checks and controls are applied to the T&I operations.

 Shall develop a resourcing plan for the offshore management of the T&I work and shall

be responsible for managing the offshore employer representatives.

 Coordination of all package-specific interface tasks associated with Installation,

required to ensure compliance with the requirements of the project's Interface

Management Plan.

4. Installation

 Responsible for the review, approval, and management of change of the Contractor's

procedures and engineering studies and analysis.

 Responsible for liaison with and management of Marine Warranty Surveyor (MWS).

 Responsible for the management and daily coordination of the offshore works.

 Responsible for managing and applying the Vessel Assurance process;

 Responsible for approving the as-installed records;

 Responsible for monitoring and reporting progress against program.

 Responsible for providing support to the quality manager to ensure satisfactory close

out of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) relating to T&I

 Management of EPCI Contractor's T&I works including approval of Contractor's

deliverables.

5. Consents

 Responsible for coordinating the preparation of the package's consent deliverables.

 Provision of technical assistance to the consenting team to assist them in discharging

the project's consent conditions.

6. Knowledge Transfer

 Including but not limited to Lessons Learnt from and to other projects of the business.

7. Others

 Willingness to travel as necessary up to 15% including some international travel.

 Willingness to go offshore as necessary up to 2 weeks during IAC installation.

Requirements:

 Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering discipline or equivalent experience.

 5+ years of proven experience as a Project Engineer / Installation Manager / Installation

Engineer or similar role.

 Strong technical background for installation of offshore cables

 A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach

 Outstanding communication skills

 Excellent organizational and leadership skills

 Proficient in MS Office

 In-depth understanding of quality control procedures and relevant project standards

 Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from PMI (Preferred).
