Introduction:

In the dynamic world of heavy industrial projects, effective health, safety, and environmental (HSE) management is vital to ensure the well-being of workers and the sustainability of operations. We are currently seeking a highly qualified individual fluent in French to serve as an HSE Supervisor on projects across North Africa. Below outlines the key responsibilities and qualifications required for this crucial role.

Position: French-speaking HSE Supervisor

Location: Projects across North Africa

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, implement, and maintain robust HSE management systems in line with international standards, local regulations, and industry best practices.
  2. Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards or risks utilizing a proactive approach.
  3. Provide effective guidance to project teams on compliance with statutory requirements related to health, safety, and environmental aspects.
  4. Implement corrective actions based on incident investigations findings promptly.
  5. Maintain accurate records of incidents, near misses, accidents reports as well as statistical data required for reporting purposes.
  6. Foster a culture of safety awareness by organizing training sessions for employees on various topics such as hazard identification, risk assessment techniques or emergency response procedures.
  7. Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (e.g., project managers) to ensure seamless integration of HSE considerations into project planning processes.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience working in an HSE supervisory role within heavy industrial projects is essential.
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken French is mandatory.
  • Possession of a degree either in Health Safety & Environment (HSE), Engineering or any related field will be highly advantageous.
  • Hold at least one internationally recognised certification such as NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety & Health), IRCA (International Register of Certificated Auditors), OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Administration) or IOSH (Institution Of Occupational Safety And Health).
