Job Description: Operations & Maintenance Engineer for Power Plants


Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Operations & Maintenance Engineer to join our team and support the efficient and reliable operation of power plants. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with heavy-duty gas and steam turbines, as well as experience with HRSG and BOP. As an Operations & Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance activities, troubleshooting equipment issues, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and optimizing plant performance.

Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor the overall operations of power plants to ensure safe and efficient functioning.
  2. Conduct regular inspections of machinery and equipment including gas turbines, steam turbines, HRSGs, BOP systems, etc.
  3. Develop maintenance strategies to prevent breakdowns and reduce downtime.
  4. Coordinate with the operations team to plan scheduled maintenance activities while minimizing disruption to plant operations.
  5. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions or abnormalities promptly to minimize downtime.
  6. Ensure compliance with safety regulations by conducting regular audits and implementing necessary corrective measures.
  7. Collaborate with other departments such as procurement or finance to manage spare parts inventory effectively.
  8. Analyze operational data regularly to identify areas for improvement in terms of efficiency or cost-effectiveness.
  9. Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements related to power plant operations.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A master's degree is preferred but not essential.
  2. At least 5 years of relevant work experience in power plants specifically working with heavy-duty gas turbines, steam turbines, HRSGs, and BOP systems is required. Experience in combined cycle power plants will be an advantage.
  3. Strong knowledge of power plant processes including start-up procedures, load adjustments, shutdown protocols etc.
  4. Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues efficiently within strict timelines and budgetary constraints
  5. Familiarity with safety standards/regulations applicable to power plant operations
  6. Excellent analytical skills coupled with attention-to-detail
  7. Strong communication skills both written and verbal
