Job Role: Electrical Engineer

Location: Duluth, Georgia

Salary: $80,000-$100,000 plus Benefits

The Team
Our client's America division is actively recruiting to staff a dynamic team dedicated to the development of breakthrough solid state lighting (LED) modules for integration into general lighting luminaires. The team will consist of mechanical, electrical, and optical engineering talent, working cohesively to bring focused solutions to key customers in close collaboration with our client's sales team. In addition, this team will interface with our client's corporate offices in Japan to ensure effective alignment of core LED technology within these module systems.

Electronics Engineer
This position will play an integral role in new electronic module development, design processes, and quality/reliability implementation. You will work closely with a cross-functional team to ensure electronics design is seamlessly integrated with LED modules targeted for luminaire systems. Responsible for appropriately securing Intellectual Property for our client while concurrently developing technical relationships with key suppliers.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead integration of electronics within our client's evolving module portfolio.
  • Create industry-leading, scalable electronic designs with flexible features at cost-appropriate levels.
  • Develop, grow, and sustain key technical partnerships with electronic assembly suppliers.
  • Oversee both design-build and build-to-print relationships.
  • Integrate innovative electronic controls and communication into LED systems.
  • Participate in developing a robust module design process, including quality & reliability objectives.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of experience.
  • Minimum of BS in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
  • Analog/digital hardware design of electronic assemblies, especially power supplies.
  • Experience in cross-functional teams developing new products.
  • Proficiency in developing specifications for engineering validation testing.

Additional Requirements:

  • Proficiency with electronic design automation (EDA) tools for schematic and printed circuit design.
  • Experience with embedded control architecture including firmware design and validation.
  • Working knowledge of electronic regulatory standards, especially UL/CSA.
  • Familiarity with DFM (design for manufacturability) and DFSS (design for six sigma).

Technical Competencies:

  • Experience with AC-input circuit design, simulation, and testing.
  • Experience with electronic manufacturing processes.
  • Quality systems, reliability planning and analysis.
  • Design, development, and manufacturing of microcontroller-based electronic products.
  • Experience with EMC and EMI compliance.

Behavioral Competencies:

  • Solid communications skills - Written and Verbal.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate - both internal and external.
  • Perseverance, tenacity, and speed in execution.
