Risk Manager - Offshore Wind Project (South Korea)

Job Title: Risk Manager

Project: Offshore Wind Development

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Risk Manager to join our team on an exciting offshore wind project in South Korea. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and managing risks associated with the project to ensure successful delivery. This role requires a strong understanding of risk management practices within the offshore wind or similar industries, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, multicultural environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify potential risks related to project scope, schedule, cost, safety, and quality.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative risk assessments to evaluate the likelihood and impact of identified risks.
  • Maintain a comprehensive risk register, ensuring all risks are properly documented and communicated.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure risk management strategies are integrated into project planning and execution.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of risk mitigation measures and adjust plans as necessary.
  • Prepare and present regular risk management reports to project leadership and stakeholders.
  • Facilitate risk workshops and meetings to promote a proactive risk management culture.
  • Ensure all relevant parties are informed of critical risks and mitigation measures in a timely manner.
  • Ensure risk management activities comply with corporate policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Document all risk management processes, decisions, and actions for audit and reference purposes.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies, to manage project risks.
  • Engage with local partners to understand and mitigate country-specific risks.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • A Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, RMP) are advantageous.
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in risk management, preferably in offshore wind, energy, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Proven track record in managing risks on international projects, particularly in Asia or South Korea.
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment and with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to foresee potential issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in risk management software and tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of Korean is highly desirable.
