Job Title: Test Technician (NETA Level II)
Position Overview:
EarthStream Global are currently looking to speak with Test Technician (NETA Level II). This role involves the safe and efficient installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical power distribution equipment. Working under the guidance of a Level III or IV Certified Technician, you will handle routine to moderately complex tasks, maintain detailed records, and prepare field service reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Travel to client locations to inspect, test, troubleshoot, and start up electrical systems while collecting relevant data.
- Test and commission protection and control systems for high-voltage substations.
- Maintain, test, repair, rebuild, and replace low, medium, and high-voltage switchgear and circuit breakers.
- Troubleshoot automatic transfer switches.
- Inspect and test low, medium, and high-voltage cable installations.
- Maintain, test, and repair transformers and associated equipment.
- Calibrate and test both solid-state and electro-mechanical relays.
- Conduct relay calibration and power metering activities.
- Perform testing on low and medium-voltage motor control centers and contactors.
- Start up, troubleshoot, and repair generator controls and transfer systems.
- Complete job hazard analyses, including arc-flash and shock assessments.
- Conduct investigations, testing, and evaluations within defined scope.
- Document all test results and generate comprehensive field service reports.
- Participate in a rotating emergency on-call schedule.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and safety protocols.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical testing.
- Current certification as NETA Level II (or NICET equivalent).
- Proven ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Experience leading small teams or managing medium-scale, multi-week projects.
- Familiarity with NETA Acceptance and Maintenance Testing Standards.
- Strong knowledge of NFPA 70E Electrical Safety standards.
- Expertise in troubleshooting electrical performance issues, such as ground faults.
- Knowledge of lockout/tagout and hazardous energy control procedures.
- Ability to travel as required.
- Clean driving record.
