Job Overview
As an HVDC Commissioning Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the testing, validation, and commissioning of high-voltage direct current (HVDC) systems. You will be responsible for ensuring that electrical, control, and protection systems operate according to design specifications and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
✔️ Conduct system testing, functional checks, and commissioning of HVDC equipment and substations.
✔️ Perform electrical, control, and protection system verifications, including relay settings and interlocking logic tests.
✔️ Work closely with engineering teams, project managers, and clients to ensure seamless project execution.
✔️ Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during the commissioning phase.
✔️ Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
✔️ Maintain accurate documentation and reporting of commissioning activities.
✔️ Provide technical support and training to operational teams.
Requirements
🔹 Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of commissioning experience in HVDC systems, substations, or high-voltage transmission projects.
🔹 Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of HVDC technology, protection & control systems, and power electronics.
🔹 Certifications: Relevant electrical engineering qualifications; additional safety certifications (e.g., BOSIET, HV Switching) are a plus.
🔹 Travel: Willingness to travel and work on-site for extended periods as per project requirements.
🔹 Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, teamwork, and communication skills.
