Department Description and responsibilities
Offshore is a global solutions provider in the offshore oil, gas and renewables industry. As a Cable Lay Superintendent, you will be responsible for the Loading, transporting and installation of subsea cables. With your extensive experience in cable laying operations, you will lead a team on board and will coordinate all the necessary works and stakeholders to make sure cable is laid in the safest and optimal way.
Primary Tasks and responsibilities
• Make sure all cable related operations are done with the highest level of safety and optimal way.
• Lead a team of 10 to 15 members (foremen and operators).
• Hold the shift handover meetings with the team on board.
• Liaise with colleagues on the bridge and surveyors for an optimal cable operation.
• Daily contact with the client representatives during the operations. You will answer their questions about the progress and technical aspects of the operations.
• Run and supervise all operations on the back-deck. This includes the operability of the Cable, installation System (CIS), ROVs, cranes and other equipment on board.
• Take care of the integrity of the cable during loading, transporting and installation phases.
• Do a daily log of activities performed.
• Report to the Offshore Installation Manager.
Technical profile requirements
• At least 5 years of experience in submarine cable installation, demonstrated through several years of experience in Cable Lay Superintendent or similar roles.
• A strong commitment to prioritizing safety and adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
• Proven leadership abilities and exceptional communication skills to effectively manage and lead a diverse team.
• Stress resistant and you can work well in demanding work environments.
• Flexibility on the working rotation.
Non-Technical profile requirements
-Strong communication skills
-Good knowledge & experience with MS Office
-Good command of English, both written and spoken
-Fit for Offshore work.

• GWO Sea survival.
• GWO Working at heights.
• GWO Fire awareness
• GWO first aid

Language proficiencies
-Fluent speaking and writing English, proficiency in other languages is a major plus.
