As a Commissioning Manager, you will lead and coordinate the commissioning activities of utility-scale PV power plants in Europe from pre-commissioning to final handover, ensuring alignment with FIDIC contract provisions, Owner’s Technical Requirements, and grid compliance standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
FIDIC Contract
- Interpret and apply FIDIC contract conditions, particularly Yellow and Silver Books, throughout commissioning phases.
- Interface with contract management teams to ensure commissioning milestones and deliverables align with FIDIC-based obligations.
- Support claims, variations, and dispute resolution related to commissioning scope.
- Analyze and implement Owner’s Requirements in technical and procedural commissioning activities.
- Ensure all functional performance tests, reports, and grid compliance are aligned with Owner’s expectations and project-specific documentation.
- Coordinate with Independent Engineers and Owner’s representatives during inspections, SATs, and performance guarantees.
- Lead and coordinate all commissioning activities from mechanical completion through energization and final testing.
- Develop and implement commissioning plans for Cold Commissioning and Hot Commissioning, system checklists, and test procedures.
- Supervise and navigate internal and/or external teams and subcontractors during cold and hot commissioning of electrical, mechanical and civil systems, SCADA, and communication networks.
- Prepare and validate detailed commissioning documentation (e.g. ITPs, FAT/SAT reports, handover dossiers).
- Liaise with Engineering, QA/QC, Construction, SCADA, H&S and O&M teams to ensure smooth commissioning integration.
- Report progress, technical risks, and resolutions to the Project Manager and Owner.
- Assist in training O&M personnel and support project handover.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
- 3 years of experience in commissioning large-scale PV (50 MW) projects is a must.
- International experience in commissioning projects (at least 3 or more European countries).
- Experience in managing people.
- Strong knowledge of high-voltage systems (MV/HV), inverters, transformers, protection relays, SCADA, and grid compliance.
- Demonstrated experience working under FIDIC contract frameworks.
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings, schematics, and test plans.
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
- Willingness to travel and work on-site internationally.
