The position is both technical and oversight‑focused, with responsibility for commissioning execution, quality control, and quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key ResponsibilitiesCommissioning & Client Representation
- Act as the Client Representative for all commissioning activities on site.
- Lead and oversee Data Centre commissioning (CX) from early-stage planning through IST, validation, and handover.
- Serve as the primary liaison between site teams, project management, vendors, and client/end‑user stakeholders.
- Proactively identify commissioning risks, technical issues, or programme conflicts and drive resolutions.
- Review and manage commissioning strategies, schedules, method statements, test scripts, and procedures.
- Ensure systems are commissioned in line with design intent, client standards, and operational requirements.
- Ensure all commissioning activities comply with the project Quality Management Plan.
- Implement and monitor Quality Control (QC) procedures during commissioning and testing activities.
- Carry out reviews of installation readiness, pre‑commissioning sign‑off, and test readiness.
- Verify accuracy and completeness of commissioning documentation, test records, and close‑out deliverables.
- Identify non‑conformances and coordinate corrective actions with construction, commissioning, and vendor teams.
- Support audits, client inspections, and quality reviews related to commissioning and system validation.
- Ensure handover documentation meets client QA/QC standards and operational acceptance criteria.
- Facilitate communication between construction, commissioning agents, QA/QC teams, and client stakeholders.
- Track progress against commissioning milestones and highlight risks to programme or quality.
- Provide regular status updates, technical reports, and issue logs to the client and project leadership.
- Support witnessing, validation, and acceptance testing activities.
- Proven experience as a Commissioning Manager, Lead Commissioning Engineer, or Client Representative on mission‑critical data centre projects.
- Strong expertise in Data Centre CX, including mechanical, electrical, controls, and Integrated Systems Testing (IST).
- Demonstrated experience with quality control and quality assurance within commissioning environments.
- Strong knowledge of critical infrastructure systems (HV/LV distribution, UPS, generators, cooling systems, BMS).
- Experience representing the client or end user is highly desirable.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively on site and manage multi‑disciplinary teams.
- Strong documentation, reporting, and organisational skills.
