In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of control systems for rotating equipment at client sites across the globe. Your expertise in control logic, instrumentation, and system integration will be essential to ensure the safe and efficient operation of critical turbomachinery assets.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Service Controls Engineer with proven experience in turbomachinery, including steam turbines, gas turbines, and compressors. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of control systems for rotating equipment at client sites across the globe. Your expertise in control logic, instrumentation, and system integration will be essential to ensure the safe and efficient operation of critical turbomachinery assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commission, troubleshoot, and maintain control systems for turbomachinery (steam turbines, gas turbines, compressors).
- Interpret and modify control system logic, including PLCs, DCS, and/or proprietary turbine control platforms.
- Configure and calibrate instrumentation, actuators, governors, vibration monitors, and related field devices.
- Perform functional and loop checks during commissioning/startup.
- Work closely with engineering teams and OEMs to implement control upgrades or retrofits.
- Provide on-site technical support, training, and consultation to customers.
- Create detailed service reports, documentation, and as-built control schematics.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety standards, customer requirements, and internal QA/QC procedures.
- Participate in root cause analyses for machinery trips, faults, or control issues.
- Maintain strong professional relationships with customers and project stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 3–5 years of field service experience with control systems for turbomachinery.
- OEM training or certifications (e.g., Siemens, GE, MAN, Solar Turbines).
- Strong understanding of steam turbine and compressor operation and controls.
- Experience with control platforms such as Woodward, Siemens, Allen-Bradley, GE Mark VIe, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with HMI systems and SCADA platforms.
- Proficiency in reading P&IDs, control logic diagrams, wiring schematics, and instrumentation layouts.
- Strong communication, documentation, and troubleshooting skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively and work in challenging industrial environments.
