Job Summary The HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) Manager is responsible for leading and managing all HSE activities on a pharmaceutical manufacturing site. The role ensures full compliance with Irish legislation and global pharma standards while promoting a strong safety culture and minimizing operational risks.

- Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with Irish regulations (HSA, EPA) and international standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, GMP).
- Act as the main contact for regulatory authorities and external auditors.
- Conduct risk assessments, hazard analysis, and safety audits.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions to mitigate risks.
- Monitor workplace conditions to ensure safe operations.
- Promote a strong safety culture across all departments.
- Lead HSE initiatives, campaigns, and continuous improvement programs.
- Provide leadership and guidance to HSE teams and site personnel.
- Lead investigations of incidents, accidents, and near misses.
- Develop and manage emergency response plans and drills.
- Ensure proper reporting and documentation of all HSE incidents.
- Deliver HSE training programs (inductions, toolbox talks, SOPs).
- Ensure all employees understand safety procedures and compliance requirements.
- Maintain training records and competency matrices.
- Monitor environmental impact, waste management, and emissions.
- Ensure compliance with environmental permits and sustainability goals.
- Manage hazardous materials and chemical safety (SDS, labeling, storage).
- Prepare HSE reports, KPIs, and audit documentation.
- Maintain accurate records for inspections and regulatory compliance.
- Track performance metrics and drive continuous improvement.
- Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
- NEBOSH / IOSH certification (essential)
- Knowledge of GMP and pharmaceutical regulations
- 5 years HSE experience, preferably in pharmaceutical or life sciences industry
- Experience in managing HSE systems in manufacturing environments
- Strong knowledge of Irish HSE legislation
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Risk assessment and incident investigation expertise
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
