We are seeking a Lifting Appointed Person to support a data centre project in Belgium.

We are seeking a Lifting Appointed Person who will:

  • Act as the appointed person for all lifting operations, with authority to stop unsafe works.
  • Develop, review, and approve lift plans, RAMS, and method statements in line with LOLER, PUWER, and BS 7121.
  • Plan and manage all lifting activities, including crane selection, configuration, and capacity checks.
  • Assess ground conditions, crane standing, and temporary works requirements.
  • Coordinate crane operations, including erection, dismantling, and SIMOPS interfaces with other site activities.
  • Ensure all lifting personnel are competent, briefed, and working to approved lift plans.
  • Verify lifting equipment, accessories, certifications, and safe working limits.
  • Enforce safe systems of work, including weather restrictions, exclusion zones, and communication protocols.
  • Manage permits, lifting coordination, and site logistics.
  • Lead lifting inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
We are seeking candidates with:

  • Experience in lifting operations or crane management on large construction projects.
  • CPCS A61 Appointed Person qualification (or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of LOLER, PUWER, and BS 7121.
  • Experience producing and approving complex lift plans.
  • Experience with tower and/or mobile cranes on major projects.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • SMSTS or equivalent safety qualification.
