Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Major Component Exchange (MCE) Supervisor to oversee and coordinate major component replacements on an onshore wind farm project in Texas. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant removal and installation of wind turbine components, including gearboxes, generators, blades, hubs, and main shafts.
This role requires a strong background in wind turbine operations and maintenance, experience with heavy lift and rigging operations, and the ability to lead field teams while coordinating with project stakeholders, OEMs, and third-party contractors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate all aspects of major component exchanges on site.
  • Ensure all activities are performed in accordance with site-specific safety procedures, OSHA regulations, and company HSE policies.
  • Lead daily job briefings, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.
  • Coordinate heavy-lift operations, including crane mobilization, rigging plans, and lift execution.
  • Liaise with OEMs, engineering teams, subcontractors, and site operations to ensure seamless execution of exchanges.
  • Track and report project progress, issues, and delays to project management and stakeholders.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, inspections, and incident reports.
  • Conduct quality control checks on installed components to ensure OEM and project specifications are met.
  • Support root cause analysis of failed components and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
  • Ensure proper de-mobilization, cleanup, and site restoration after work completion.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of wind energy experience, with at least 3 years in major component exchanges or field service supervisory roles.
  • Deep understanding of wind turbine mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Strong knowledge of lifting and rigging operations, including crane operations.
  • OSHA 30, CPR/First Aid, and GWO certifications (preferred or required).
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, lift plans, and technical manuals.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Physically fit for climbing and working at heights.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to remote sites in Texas.
Preferred Experience:
  • Experience with specific turbine platforms (e.g., GE, Siemens Gamesa, Vestas).
  • Familiarity with SAP, SCADA systems, and digital work order platforms.
  • Previous experience working in Texas or similar onshore wind environments.
