This role is pivotal in ensuring high standards of mechanical integrity, operational efficiency, and compliance with Siemens and international standards during the turbine setup and commissioning phases.

About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Installation & Commissioning Engineer to join our team on a 6-month contract basis for the installation and commissioning of Siemens SGT-8000 series gas turbines across various sites in the EU. This role is pivotal in ensuring high standards of mechanical integrity, operational efficiency, and compliance with Siemens and international standards during the turbine setup and commissioning phases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and execute the mechanical installation of Siemens SGT-8000 gas turbines and auxiliary systems.
- Lead and coordinate site mechanical activities including lifting, alignment, coupling, and torqueing of mechanical systems.
- Perform mechanical pre-commissioning and commissioning tasks including flushing, leak testing, and functional checks.
- Collaborate closely with Siemens and client technical teams to ensure correct installation per OEM specifications.
- Interpret technical drawings, manuals, and schematics related to turbine systems.
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and resolution of mechanical issues during commissioning.
- Ensure all work is performed according to site safety protocols and relevant EU health and safety legislation.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, test results, and any deviations or modifications.
- Provide training and handover documentation to client operations and maintenance staff, as needed.
- Proven experience with Siemens SGT-8000 gas turbines, preferably including commissioning exposure.
- Mechanical Engineering qualification (degree or equivalent).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in mechanical installation/commissioning roles within power generation or similar heavy industries.
- In-depth knowledge of rotating equipment installation practices.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, mechanical schematics, and OEM manuals.
- EU work authorization and willingness to travel across multiple EU member states as needed.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Fluent in English; additional EU language skills are a plus.
- Siemens SGT-8000 OEM training or certifications.
- Experience working under Siemens Quality and EHS standards.
