Client information
Based in Port of NEOM is strategically located along the coast of the Red Sea and is adjacent to the nearby Suez Canal, through which 13% of global trade passes. The port will be a critical enabler to the overall build, operations and economic ambitions of NEOM, facilitating the import of goods and materials during the development phase and as a new global port serving the region.
Located on the Red Sea coast, Oxagon, which will be considered the floating industrial complex, is set to offer direct connectivity to NEOM and other regions as well as a city 100 percent powered by renewable energy.
The area will have an interesting octagonal shape, with part of it on land and the other piece lying on the Red Sea, designed to be a good alternative to shipping traveling through the Suez Canal and to minimize the impact on the environment.
Department Description and responsibilities
The QHSE Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the QHSE management systems, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations. This role aims to enhance workplace safety, quality of operations, and environmental stewardship, ultimately fostering a culture of continuous improvement across the organization.
Primary Tasks and responsibilities
-Oversee QHSE teams on the projects
-Improve and expand QHSE processes and systems.
-Assist project teams with QHSE aspects.
-Lead audit programs and follow up on non-conformities.
-Prepare periodic/annual QHSE performance reports.
-Communicate QHSE initiatives and issues to stakeholders.
-Site Risk Management.
-Liaise with authorities.
Technical profile requirements
-At least 10 years of experience in construction (with at least 3 years as Health and Safety Manager) and Auditor training.
-Experience with developing a structure and culture of EHS.
-You have a solid experience in people management and as a team lead.
-Willing to travel abroad occasionally for short periods.
Non-Technical profile requirements
-Pragmatic, proactive and forward thinking.
-Team player, excellent communication skills, tactful.
-Service oriented and problem-solving attitude.
-Critical and analytical thinking.
-Accurate, efficient in organizing your work.
Following certifications are required:
-Chartered Membership (CMIOSH)
-NEBOSCH
Language proficiencies
-Fluent proficiency in English is required (written and spoken). Proficiency in other languages (Arabic) is a plus.
