Site Contract Manager – Power Plant 

Position: Site Contract Manager
Start Date: August 2026
Duration: Approx. 3 years
Working Hours: 40 hours (Mon–Fri), with potential to increase depending on project demands

Role Overview This is a site-based position responsible for managing all commercial and contractual aspects during project execution. The successful candidate will work closely with site and project leadership to identify, mitigate, and manage contractual risks, while ensuring full compliance with contract terms across all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities General Duties
  • Attend site meetings Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend meetings (paid overtime).
  • Coordinate and manage commercial matters on-site with the client, consortium partners, and subcontractors.
  • Gather and maintain documentation to protect our client’s contractual position and support risk and claims mitigation.
  • Communicate any commercial or contractual risks to Site Manager, Project Manager, Site Installation Manager, and Project Contract Manager.
Subcontract & Contract Management
  • Establish and maintain event logs, risk registers, and claims registers.
  • Prepare notices, claims, counterclaims, and change orders in collaboration with project teams.
  • Support the negotiation of claims and variations.
  • Manage non-conformance processes and support recovery of back-charges from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Support commercial aspects of site purchasing activities and implementation of agreed procedures with partners.
  • Oversee subcontractor payment applications, issuing Payment Certificates and Milestone Certifications.
Reporting, Documentation & Compliance
  • Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, working hours, and claim support documentation.
  • Review project progress reports to ensure key commercial risks and events are captured.
  • Maintain and organize contract documentation and records, including evidence for claims and delays.
  • Prepare, review, and distribute Minutes of Meetings.
  • Produce a weekly Contract Management report, covering:
    • Project delays (EPC, client, or third parties)
    • Claims status and associated costs
    • Insurance events and recovery progress
    • Vendor performance and recovery actions
Risk, Claims & Commercial Oversight
  • Track delays, costs, damages, and scope changes, and develop mitigation plans.
  • Monitor contractual milestones and project schedules, identifying deviations.
  • Raise and manage delay notices and claim notifications in a timely manner.
  • Support the Extra Works process for design changes, repairs, and site modifications.
  • Assist in the management of insurance claims, including documentation and coordination with adjusters.
  • Provide contractual guidance and interpretation to site teams to ensure compliance.
Coordination & Stakeholder Management
  • Attend daily, weekly, and monthly site meetings to identify and capture commercial risks and disputes.
  • Coordinate with site teams to identify potential delay or claim scenarios early.
  • Escalate risks impacting cost, schedule, or contractual obligations to senior project stakeholders.
Key Requirements
  • Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Law, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
  • 10 years’ experience in contract management within large infrastructure or EPC projects.
  • Experience in power generation, gas power plants, or substation projects is highly advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Contract management & administration
    • Claims preparation & dispute resolution
    • Variation orders and extension of time (EOT) strategies
  • Proven experience in high-value contract negotiations.
  • Solid understanding of commercial and contract law principles.
  • Strong technical awareness of project scope and contractual obligations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Good understanding of project risk management, planning, and controls.
