Position Summary: The Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Superintendent is responsible for overseeing field operations on assigned project(s), ensuring safe, timely, and cost-effective execution. This role involves planning, organizing, and supervising specific portions of construction work within designated areas, and managing the construction scheduling of T&D activities performed by subcontractors.

Requisition Title: Transmission & Distribution Superintendent
Position Summary: The Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Superintendent is responsible for overseeing field operations on assigned project(s), ensuring safe, timely, and cost-effective execution. This role involves planning, organizing, and supervising specific portions of construction work within designated areas, and managing the construction scheduling of T&D activities performed by subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise field work related to high-voltage transmission lines, steel and wood structures, drilled piers, spread footings, grounding, environmental compliance, substation equipment, electrical systems, and controls.
- Ensure project construction meets safety, productivity, scheduling, engineering, and contractual requirements.
- Monitor subcontractor compliance on all T&D-related activities.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
- Support the development and implementation of project procedures and standards.
- Approve purchase requisitions and field change requests with oversight from Construction and Project Managers.
- Lead and monitor overall site safety; regularly audit safety documentation including Pre-Task Analyses (PTAs) and Task Safety Observations (TSOs).
- Maintain daily field reports and photographic documentation of site progress.
- Evaluate upcoming activities using subcontractor 3-week look-ahead schedules and identify potential issues.
- Produce as-built drawings and assist with responses to RFIs.
- Direct subcontractors to ensure adherence to schedule and track progress via installed quantities and work hours.
- Verify material deliveries, storage conditions, and required maintenance tasks.
- Coordinate with QA/QC to confirm welder qualifications.
- Witness equipment installation and alignment.
- Oversee hydrostatic testing and ensure systems meet specifications.
- Develop and manage punch lists for incomplete or non-compliant items.
- Ensure field crews are working from the most up-to-date drawings and documents.
- Enforce scope control and execution of field change orders.
- Supervise craft personnel and manage project site staffing.
- Oversee site materials and tool inventory management.
- Ensure project execution aligns with approved policies, procedures, and specifications.
- Interpret and apply isometric drawings, structural plans, and P&IDs.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Adhere to all company policies and standards.
- Education & Experience (one of the following is required):
- Bachelor’s Degree 7 years of construction or craft supervision experience on T&D projects
- Associate Degree 9 years of relevant experience
- High School Diploma/GED 11 years of relevant experience
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Strong commitment to safety
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Must meet company driving eligibility requirements
