Earthstream have an exciting opportunity for an Advanced Process Control Engineer to join our client based in Saudi Arabia.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical background in APC systems and process modelling, looking to work on large-scale gasification and power production operations. You’ll be part of a dynamic, interdisciplinary team driving optimization, safety, and reliability through cutting-edge control solutions.

To design, implement, and maintain advanced process control (APC) systems that improve efficiency, safety, and reliability in gasification and power production operations.

Main Purpose of the Position
To design, implement, and maintain advanced process control (APC) systems that improve efficiency, safety, and reliability in gasification and power production operations.
Key Objectives
- Process Optimization
Develop and implement APC strategies to maximize plant efficiency and production output. - System Reliability
Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain APC systems to ensure stable, uninterrupted operations. - Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with operations and engineering teams to seamlessly integrate APC solutions with existing plant systems. - Data Analysis & Modeling
Analyze process data to detect trends, identify inefficiencies, and support decision-making with actionable insights. - Regulatory Compliance
Ensure all APC systems meet safety standards, environmental regulations, and industry best practices. - Control System Innovation
Build and maintain dynamic simulation models to drive innovation in process control. - Training & Support
Train operations staff on APC tools and methodologies; provide ongoing technical support as needed. - Continuous Improvement
Lead initiatives that reduce costs, boost efficiency, and enhance plant performance.
- APC Tools: Proficient in Aspen DMCplus, Honeywell Profit Controller, or equivalent
- Process Knowledge: Solid understanding of gasification, combustion, and power generation
- Modeling & Simulation: Advanced expertise in process modeling, simulation, and optimization
- Regulatory Knowledge: Proficient in safety standards and compliance requirements
- Analytical Skills: Advanced problem-solving abilities with a data-driven mindset
- Programming: Strong skills in Python, MATLAB, or similar scripting languages
- Collaboration: Effective communicator with solid teamwork skills
- Project Management: Proficient in organizing and leading technical projects
