This is a senior site-based leadership role, responsible for driving best-in-class EHS performance across complex, fast-paced construction environments. You’ll act as the EHS authority on site, influencing project teams, clients, and supply-chain partners while embedding a proactive, behavioural safety culture from pre-construction through commissioning and handover.
This role goes beyond compliance — it’s about leadership, visibility, and raising standards on some of Europe’s most technically demanding projects.

Key Responsibilities Leadership & Safety Culture
  • Lead and champion a proactive, high-performance safety culture on site
  • Provide guidance and leadership to EHS Advisors and wider project teams
  • Act as the senior EHS point of contact for project leadership and client representatives
  • Drive continuous improvement and behavioural safety initiatives

Operational Delivery

  • Oversee all EHS activities on high-risk data centre construction sites
  • Ensure robust implementation of RAMS, permit-to-work systems, and safe systems of work
  • Carry out site inspections, audits, and safety walks, driving timely close-out of actions
  • Support safe planning and execution of high-risk activities (lifting operations, energisation, confined spaces, commissioning)
  • Ensure effective inductions, toolbox talks, and training programmes

Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with local, EU, and international EHS legislation
  • Maintain ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and internal EHS management systems
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective actions
  • Deliver accurate EHS reporting to internal and external stakeholders

Stakeholder & Client Engagement

  • Act as a key interface with clients on EHS matters
  • Influence subcontractors and supply chain partners to meet stringent safety standards
  • Participate in audits, inspections, and regulatory engagement

Key Requirements
  • Degree-qualified in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or similar
  • NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent Level 6 qualification)
  • 7–10 years’ EHS experience within construction or technical project environments
  • Proven data centre construction experience (essential)
  • Strong knowledge of high-risk construction activities in mission-critical environments
  • In-depth understanding of EU and local EHS legislation
  • Experience implementing ISO 45001 & ISO 14001
  • Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
  • Fluent English required (Dutch and/or French advantageous)

Why Apply?
  • Work on major, high-value mission-critical data centre projects
  • Take ownership of EHS on complex, fast-track builds
  • Join a growing international contractor with a strong pipeline across Europe
  • High visibility role with real influence on project outcomes and safety culture
