Earthstream is recruiting on behalf of a leading client for an experienced Electrical Test Engineer. In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for inspecting, testing, and documenting electrical installations and control panels to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform quality inspections and electrical testing of control panels
- Verify build accuracy and ensure all components meet electrical design specs
- Read and interpret mechanical and electrical technical drawings
- Conduct pre-power and functional testing, including PLC I/O and VSDs
- Manage calibration of in-house test equipment and maintain testing rigs
- Record test results accurately, identify faults, and troubleshoot as needed
- Ensure all work aligns with internal and external quality standards
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards in the service area
- Support panel build and wiring when testing is not active
- Participate in safety, quality, and process improvement initiatives
- Provide training to team members within your competency
- Travel to customer or external sites as required
- Conduct VSD bench repairs (AC & DC drives)
- Apprenticeship or degree in Electrical Engineering / Mechatronics
- Recognised electrical/electronic engineering qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on panel wiring experience
- Strong understanding of VSDs, PLCs, SCADA/HMI technologies
- Excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills
- High attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team
