Earthstream is recruiting for a Mechanical – Field Technian to join the Maintenance team in Arnhem. Role Overview
As a Mechanical – Field Technian , you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal availability, reliability, and safety of installations, networks, and technical equipment. You will carry out both corrective and preventive maintenance activities while adhering to all applicable safety, quality, environmental, and operational standards.
The role requires a proactive and independent technician who can effectively plan work, coordinate tasks, respond to breakdowns, and maintain accurate technical documentation.

Key Responsibilities
Corrective Maintenance
- Diagnose faults and technical malfunctions.
- Develop and implement corrective action plans.
- Carry out repairs independently or coordinate external support where required.
- Restore installations and networks to optimal operating condition.
- Perform scheduled inspections and maintenance activities.
- Execute preventive maintenance programs.
- Complete assembly, replacement, and modification work resulting from inspection findings.
- Assess the nature, urgency, scope, and costs of maintenance activities.
- Prepare work plans in consultation with customers and stakeholders.
- Conduct task risk assessments and implement appropriate control measures.
- Coordinate daily tasks with colleagues and assigned technicians.
- Monitor work execution and progress.
- Verify installations operate according to technical specifications and safety requirements.
- Promote and maintain a safe working environment.
- Ensure compliance with VCA requirements and company safety policies.
- Identify and mitigate operational risks.
- Accurately record maintenance activities and technical findings.
- Complete required administrative documentation.
- Ensure maintenance records support reporting and invoicing processes.
- Participate fully in the breakdown and emergency call-out service.
- Respond effectively to urgent operational issues when required.
- Completed MBO Level 3 or 4
- Technical background in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- Ability to work independently at Mechanic B level.
- Valid VCA certificate or willingness to obtain it in the short term.
- Full, valid Driving Licence B.
- Willingness and availability to participate in the breakdown standby service.
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
- Customer-focused mindset.
- Proactive attitude with a strong sense of ownership.
- Team player capable of working effectively within a close-knit maintenance team.
- Previous experience in field service
- Experience within installation technology.
- Strong willingness to learn and develop new technical skills.
