Specialism:
My client is a large materials manufacturer with sites all across Europe - their main sites being in Antwerp.

As a Lead E&I Engineer, you are responsible for managing electrical and instrumentation projects from concept to delivery. You act as the technical discipline lead for E&I within large-scale multidisciplinary industrial investment projects (up to €30 million) and work closely with the Project Manager, who holds overall responsibility for the project.

This is not a purely design-oriented role — we are looking for a Lead Engineer who can provide technical leadership and coordination within multidisciplinary projects.

Tasks & Responsibilities
  • Independently lead the electrical and instrumentation (E&I) discipline from A to Z, from feasibility studies through commissioning and handover.
  • Make technical decisions regarding materials and applications, taking environmental factors into account.
  • Collaborate closely with internal project teams (mechanical, site, design), the Project Manager, and external partners.
  • Interpret and assess electrical diagrams and cable calculations (including in Caneco) and provide solutions where necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with ATEX regulations throughout all relevant project phases.

Technical Profile Requirements
  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a leading E&I role within process industry projects.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience as an E&I Engineer in the process industry.
  • Excellent knowledge of industrial instrumentation (pressure, flow, level measurements, etc.).
  • Experience with project-based work in the process industry.
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience with ATEX guidelines and applications.
  • Ability to interpret electrical diagrams (e.g., in EPLAN) — drawing skills are not required.
  • Experience with Caneco for cable calculations and interpretation.
