Onshore Landfall Site Manager Location: Happisburgh NR12 - South Denes Road, Great Yarmouth Duration: 01/04/2026 to 30/04/2027 Project: Norfolk Vanguard West and East OWF Type: Freelance, outside IR35 Role description: The Onshore HDD Landfall Site Manager will support the Offshore Site Manager (OSM) in the management of the site establishment and works co-ordination for the Onshore PC Zone 3 Site, at Happisburgh NR12, for the completion of HDD and the subsequent installation, jointing and testing of 2x 320kV offshore cables plus associated. Experience of the management of offshore wind farm construction, including an appreciation of the Principal Contractor duties under the CDM (2015) Regulations is required. The scope of works will be carried out at the Principal Contractor construction coordination base in Norfolk, and the Onshore PC Zone 3 Site, at Happisburgh NR12. Flexible working hours will be essential given the 24-hour offshore construction process, and it is expected that the Onshore HDD Landfall Site Manager will work with either a 10 on 4 off shift rotation or Monday to Friday with sufficient provisions for travel - yet to be defined. The Onshore HDD Landfall Site Manager will have the day-to-day responsibility for the coordination and management of works within the PC Zone 3 Site and related to the landfall installation of the offshore export cables. Reporting activity to line management and the wider project will be daily and weekly. There will be a requirement to attend and where relevant chair daily and weekly meetings attended by the GSM, OSM, Marine Coordinators, Permit Coordinators and all Contractors. As a Lead Engineer, you are responsible for the technical integrity of projects throughout the execution phase: <ul><li>Requesting and coordinating discipline engineers and managing their technical input</li><li>Leading the assessment of contractor documentation and taking responsibility for all technical aspects of projects</li><li>Active involvement in project realization, from detailed design through commissioning, with frequent presence on-site</li><li>Maintaining close contact with internal and external stakeholders, including regional grid operators and contractor engineers</li><li>Supporting and advising during the tendering, design, and execution phases</li><li>Reviewing and approving:<ul><li>Technical specifications</li><li>Work packages</li><li>Drawings and calculations</li></ul></li><li>Working with multiple contract types, including traditional contracts, UAV, and UAV-GC</li></ul>Candidate Profile Education & Experience <ul><li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Energy Technology</li><li>Minimum 5 years’ experience in high-voltage engineering (≥110 kV), including substations<ul><li>Alternatively:<ul><li>Minimum 3 years of relevant experience for experienced engineers</li><li>Engineers with experience from ≥10 kV networks are also eligible</li></ul></li></ul></li></ul>Skills & Competencies <ul><li>Strong leadership or coordination capabilities (not mandatory for experienced engineers)</li><li>Analytical, structured, and able to maintain a helicopter view</li><li>Strong communication skills and resilience under time pressure</li><li>Experience with project-based working methods (e.g. PRINCE2, IPMA)</li><li>Knowledge of and experience with:<ul><li>Contract forms (Specifications, UAV, UAV-GC)</li><li>Systems-Oriented Contract Management</li><li>Systems Engineering</li><li>Requirements management tools such as Relatics</li></ul></li><li>Full professional fluency in Dutch (mandatory)</li></ul>
