We are seeking a Marine Engineering / Electrical Technical Consultant with proven experience delivering Dynamic Positioning (DP) System assurance across diverse vessel types and client groups. You will support assurance activities, attend vessels, produce high‑quality technical reports, and contribute expertise across both traditional offshore energy and growing renewable sectors.

This is a short-term contract (2–3 months) with strong potential for extension depending on project pipeline and performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct and support DP System FMEA and Proving Trials authoring, review, verification, and validation.
  • Attend vessels as an independent witness, recording results from approved trials programmes.
  • Review and develop FMEA and Trials Programmes in line with industry guidelines (IMCA M190 / M191).
  • Produce robust, clear, and client‑ready technical reports.
  • Provide client-facing support, including offshore or onsite attendance as needed.
  • Support projects involving closed-bus power systems, battery/hybrid installations, and related technologies.
  • Develop marine operating procedures, method statements, and risk assessments.
  • Perform SIMOPS assessments and marine risk evaluations for multi-vessel operations.
  • Ensure all work aligns with assurance standards and relevant industry guidance.
About You
You are a technically strong, client-focused consultant with a background in marine operations. You should bring experience from offshore support vessels such as Drillships, Dive Vessels, PLVs/CLVs, AHTS, or SOVs, ideally at the level of:
  • Chief Engineer / Second Engineer / Electrician / ETO
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of marine regulatory/statutory requirements (Class rules), industry standards, and guidelines (IMCA / OCIMF / MTS).
  • Offshore medical fitness (ENG1 or OEUK), or ability to obtain.
  • Strong client‑facing communication skills and commercial awareness.
  • Ability to simplify technical issues and advise clients confidently.
  • Proactive, self‑driven, and responsive to project timelines.
  • Right to live and work in the UK.
  • Offshore safety certification desirable (BOSIET / FOET / GWO).
  • Fluent English, both written and verbal.
