We are all on the move. This clients battery materials give people autonomy and connectivity. We are a pioneer in battery materials that give added range and performance to electric vehicles. Our materials also ensure longer battery life for portable electronics. To enable our customers to produce even better performing batteries we cannot stand still. We need to find new ways to do things, discover new solutions and develop new ideas. Which is where you come in.
The client is preparing to build multiple battery materials production plants across the globe. These cutting-edge facilities will be a critical part of the electric vehicle (EV) supply chain. In support of these greenfield expansions, the client is looking for a Project Planning & Scheduling Engineer with experience in industrial engineering projects to support the team in Brussels.
In this role, you will be responsible for the development, coordination, and integration of detailed project schedules from early feasibility assessments to start of production, including design, construction, and handover of manufacturing facilities and related structures.
Primary Tasks and Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain integrated project schedules across all project phases using tools such as Primavera P6 or Planisware.
- Collaborate closely with engineering project managers, EPCM partners, and technical domain leaders to ensure alignment of timelines and deliverables.
- Monitor schedule progress, identify deviations, and proactively propose mitigation strategies to maintain project timelines.
- Facilitate regular schedule review meetings and provide clear reporting on schedule status, critical paths, and key milestones.
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of planning tools and methodologies, including digital planning platforms.
- Contribute to the successful execution of expansion projects aligned with the clients Vision 2030 growth strategy.
Secondary Tasks and Responsibilities
- Support in project control (to manage high level EPCM and contractors performance - hours burned/earned)
- Assist in the coordination of planning inputs from procurement, engineering, and construction teams.
- Support the integration of planning data into project dashboards and reporting tools.
- Capture lessons learned and best practices to improve future project planning efforts.
Technical Profile Requirements
- Strong proficiency in project scheduling software such as Primavera P6 or Planisware V7.
- 7–10 years of experience in project planning and scheduling, ideally within the automotive, materials, or industrial sectors.
- Familiarity with EPCM project environments and multidisciplinary project execution.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Power BI, and other data visualization tools.
- Understanding of industrial project phases and interdependencies between engineering, procurement, and construction activities.
Non-Technical Profile Requirements
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- Collaborative and team-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Experience working in an international and multicultural environment.
Methodology/Certification Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering or a related field.
- Project Management certification (PMI, Prince2) is a plus.
