  1. Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to conduct 2nd party inspection and quality assurance activities for precast concrete and woodcrete noise barrier panels manufactured in France for the HS2 Area North project..
  1. Key Responsibilities
Inspection & Quality Assurance:
  • Perform routine 2nd party inspections at manufacturing facilities
  • Verify dimensional accuracy, concrete strength, reinforcement placement, and surface finish of noise barrier panels
  • Inspect woodcrete composite panels for density, acoustic performance, and bonding integrity
  • Review batch test certificates, material traceability documentation, and production records
  • Conduct pre-pour, post-pour, and pre-dispatch inspections
  • Witness factory acceptance tests (FAT) and maintain inspection registers
Technical Compliance:
  • Ensure manufacturing processes comply with:
    • HS2 Technical Standards (HS2-HS2-HS2-STD-STD-000-000001)
    • BS EN 13369: Common Rules for Precast Concrete Products
    • BS EN 14388: Road Traffic Noise Reducing Devices
    • Project-specific Contract Data Part 2 (CDP2) requirements
  • Verify CE marking and Declaration of Performance (DoP) validity
  • Identify non-conformances and issue Inspection Test Reports (ITRs) with NCRs where required
  1. Required Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
  • Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in precast concrete inspection or quality assurance
  • Working knowledge of BS EN 13369 and BS EN 14388
  • Bilingual: Professional fluency in French (C1 minimum) and English (written & spoken)
Desirable:
Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or working towards
