Earthstream are recruiting a PLC Programmers working for a leading automotive manufacturer.
This is a 4-month contract position and will initially be working 20 hrs a week over the weekends, the hours will increase to 70 during the shutdown periods - A project schedule is available on request.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experienced of writing plc software - Ideally Siemens and/or Rockwell
- STL and or IL coding experience.
- Previous experience working within automotive is preferred however other industries will be considered.

Main responsibilities of the Automation Engineer will include:
- Develop, maintain, and implement the automation system in the factory.
- Work together with the Industrial Automation System Design team to test and verify upgrades and test applications.
- Participate in R&D activities for piloting of new technologies and their suitability to production environments.
- Cost estimations for projects and change requests. Provide input for quoting and planning works.
- Fault finding as part of the maintenance procedure.
- Participate in and contribute towards design forums and improvement meetings for technical improvement and optimization of software processes.
Requirements:
- Degree in Electronic/Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Computing, Software Engineering or similar.
- Experience with PLC/SCADA (Siemens, Beckhoff, TwinCat 3 or ABB 800xA) programming, code writing, and the development of control system architecture.
- Experience in OPC connectivity, MES interfaces, and edge device.
- Excellent English written and oral skills.

- Lead wind farm projects from approval to commissioning, ensuring adherence to schedule, quality, and cost targets.
- Manage tendering and selection of necessary BoP services for project execution.
- Develop and execute project plans, ensuring timely completion within budget constraints and financing terms.
- Manage internal and external stakeholders throughout project execution.
- Provide regular reporting, maintain comprehensive project documentation, and facilitate smooth project handover to operational management.

Earthstream are recruiting Senior Control System Engineers join our client that specialises in control system design, software development, and manufacturing services for industrial machinery.
The position will involve working from the offices during software design and writing and then software installation and commissioning activities will take place on-site at customers' sites. This will involve periods of working at our customer's site with the team and there will be periods of working away from home.
They do offer flexible and hybrid working scheme during the design phase of projects.
Essential Skills
- Demonstrated experienced of writing plc software from first principles. Ideally in SIEMENS S7 classic and/or TIA. Rockwell Studio 5000 is another option.
- Experience writing safety software and validating this against a safety matrix. VFD drives configuration and setting up
- STL and or IL coding experience.
- ProfiNet systems or similar
- Ability to read electrical drawings
- Ability to carry out basic electrical fault finding using a multimeter
- Documentation such as FDS, O&M manuals, etc.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- A good understanding of the English language, spoken and written due to most of our customers being in the UK.
- Full UK driving licence
