SCADA Engineer Representative Duration: 01-May-2026 - 28-Feb-2027 Department: Electrical Systems Rotations: 14/14 days – 12 hrs a day Location: Rhode Island, USA Description: We are seeking an experienced SCADA Commissioning Lead to support the delivery of SCADA systems across offshore wind projects. The role is positioned as an independent, on-site consultant function with responsibility for ensuring that all SCADA commissioning activities are executed safely, in compliance with applicable standards, and in alignment with the overall project schedule. The consultant will act as the central coordination point for SCADA commissioning, working across contractors, engineering teams, and commissioning management to ensure seamless execution. The scope includes Substation Control Systems, WTG SCADA and grid compliance, communication networks, metering systems, and associated auxiliary systems. The role requires both technical depth and the ability to operate effectively in a complex, multi-stakeholder EPC environment. A key part of the assignment is to establish and maintain full control over commissioning activities. This includes driving the preparation and execution of FAT, SAT, and SIT, ensuring that all testing is properly conducted, documented, and approved. The consultant will be responsible for developing and maintaining the SCADA Commissioning Plan, including scope definition, quality assurance, and timelines, and for ensuring that all deliverables meet internal standards as well as regulatory and HSE requirements. The consultant is expected to actively manage interfaces between SCADA contractors, electrical commissioning teams, and project stakeholders. This includes coordinating daily commissioning activities, monitoring progress against the plan, and proactively identifying risks that may impact schedule or quality. Where deviations occur, the consultant must take ownership of driving corrective actions and ensuring alignment across involved parties. In addition, the role carries a clear mandate to ensure quality and compliance. The consultant will have the authority to challenge and reject non-compliant work or documentation and is expected to enforce project standards consistently across all SCADA-related activities. Regular reporting to the Commissioning Manager and SCADA Package Manager will be required, with a focus on transparency, risk visibility, and progress tracking. Overall, the success of the assignment will be measured by the timely and high-quality commissioning of SCADA systems, the absence of critical HSE incidents within scope, and the delivery of complete, audit-ready documentation. The consultant is expected to contribute not only through execution, but by strengthening coordination, reducing risk, and ensuring that SCADA commissioning supports the broader project objectives. The resource will work onshore and offshore. The Consultant must bring his/her own PC and/or Iphone. External consultants’ equipment such as PCs, mobile phones and iPads must always be up-to-date with the latest iOS release. The owner must allow the client’s AirWatch security and management software for iPhones and iPads to be installed. The app is mandatory on all mobile devices used by client staff (including External consultants) to protect them from cybercrime. The owner must grant approval for client to remove apps, data and access from privately owned equipment if it is deemed to pose a risk in relation to client’s security or the GDPR regulations, if the equipment is lost/stolen, or if the owner ceases to have an active contract with Magnit and/or client. When an external consultant leaves the client, they must contact the IT Service Desk to remove all client apps and data. The IT Service Desk can only support privately owned equipment in connection with client's AirWatch security and management software. Requirements: The ideal candidate brings a minimum of five years of experience within SCADA or automation commissioning, preferably from offshore wind or similar large-scale infrastructure projects. A solid technical foundation combined with strong project execution capabilities is essential, as is the ability to operate independently in a demanding site environment. Experience working with international contractors and managing complex interfaces is critical to success in this role. Has GWO and hold the cost to maintain it. A person with offshore Wind expirations and is willing to stay for a longer period at the time if needed.
